Cinematic Gold, 90's Edition.

This post could go on for many pages because there were so many great TV shows in the 90's that I remember being borderline addicted to. I will just outline a few of my personal favorites, and I hope that you all remember and love them as much as I do! I am choosing to leave out the very obvious choices like Friends and Seinfeld, etc. Plus I was only 10 by the time 1999 rolled around so most of my memories are old cartoons.

1) Sailor Moon. My God, I was so obsessed with this show! I think I truly thought I was her. I even had the wand and the Barbies and I would force my brother to pretend he was Tuxedo Mask. Embarrassing.

I guess my brother got revenge for all the years of me forcing him to be Tuxedo Mask because this is what my dolls look like...
2) Keeping with the anime theme, it would be a travesty not to mention Pokemon. I still have the original characters memorized. Now Pokemon is in its 23908th season, and Pikachu still hasn't evolved.

3) Rugrats. This show can actually still be seen late at night on Nickelodeon. I watched one episode semi-recently and I wish I hadn't. The memories were so great, but as an adult, the writing is very poor.

4) Obviously The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. If you grew up in the 90's then you still have the theme song memorized and are probably singing it in your head right now. And who can forget the Carlton dance!?

The image quality leaves much to be desired.

4) The Wild Thornberrys. I really hated Eliza, I found her quite annoying. Yup, I "hate watched" this show. It was just really amusing to make fun of her. It also annoys me that the writers chose to misspell "berries."

5)  I know I said that most of the TV shows I watched were cartoons, but my parents often watched this show, and unfortunately we only had one television. I really thought this show was so boring. Northern Exposure. The best part was the moose during the intro.

6) The Nanny. That voice will forever remain embedded in my brain. My God. I'm not sure who decided this woman should be on TV, but they should be shot repeatedly.

7) Boy Meets World. The wise words of Mr. Feeny will always guide me. Just kidding, but he was wise. I still don't know how in the world they came up with the name Topanga, but I wanted to be her.

8) Pinky and the Brain. What are they going to do tonight? The same thing they do every night; try to take over the world!

9) Bobby's World. He made tricycles cool!

10) Captain Planet. Saving the world, one episode at a time!

11) Daria. I wasn't really supposed to watch this show, but I did anyway. And I loved it. I think it shaped me into the sarcastic asshole that I am today. Thank you, Daria. And thank you, Quinn for being an example of everything I hate.

Honestly, this list can go on forever. I might have to just make another post about it another day. I know I am missing a ton of shows but whatever.
